Penetrates in depth to ensure protection from deterioration by UV rays, atmospheric agents and freezethaw cycles. Highly breathable, it revives color while leaving the original veining visible. Excellent elasticity, capable of following the natural structural ariations of the wood.

DESCRIPTION
UNIMARC IMPREGNANTE LEGNO is a water-based product, with an acrylic resin base featuring a high throwing power, for impregnating and protecting interior and exterior woodwork. The product provides excellent outdoor resistance thanks to the special acrylic binder of which it is composed, which is capable of penetrating the surface and remaining unaltered despite the natural structural variations of the wood.
UNIMARC IMPREGNANTE LEGNO enables the woodwork to be protected against ultraviolet light, degradant agents, thanks to the presence of micronized mineral pigments and particularly additives.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The Product Can Be Applied On Woodwork: New, old or varnished woodwork; such as doors, skirting boards, windows in general, beams, panels, matchboards, etc...

• Pay attention to the treatment of woods rich in tannin. To prevent the formation of unaesthetic dark stains apply UNIMARC PRIMER ANTITANNINO cod. 3080001/0019.
• Pay attention to the treatment on woods without tannin with UNIMARC IMPREGNANTE LEGNO in pastel color. Apply UNIMARC PRIMER ANTITANNINO colourless code 3080001 to prevent the natural phenomena of yellowing.
  

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

• Type of binder: water-based acrylic copolymer.
• Pigments: micronized mineral colouring and clear oxides, offering UV stability.
• Solvents: water.
• Specific gravity per UNI EN ISO 2811-1: 1.01 + 0.05 kg/l.
• Viscosity per UNI 8902: 152 + 24 cps at 25 °C.
• Drying ( at 25 C and 65% of R.H.): to touch in 1 hour; to recoat after 6 hours.
  

PREPARING THE SURFACE
New Woodwork:

• Sand lightly in order to remove the raised wood fibres.
• Remove any resin using the Nitro thinner 5170076.
• Fill the imperfections with synthetic filler. Rub down the fillings and eliminate any dust.
• Make sure the wood is not too damp.
• On woodwork featuring irregular absorption, or on soft or dry wood, apply an undercoat of clear UNIMARC IMPREGNANTE LEGNO series 313, diluted at 20-30% with water.
• Sand down the surfaces and proceed with the application of UNIMARC IMPREGNANTE LEGNO in the desired colour, sanding down between one coat and the next in order to remove the raised fibres.
  

Varnished Woodwork:

• Sand down in order to remove the raised wood fibres.
• Eliminate any coats of old flaking varnish and coarsen all the surfaces which have already been varnished.
• Remove any resin using the Nitro thinner 5170076.
• Fill the imperfections with synthetic filler. Rub down the fillings and eliminate any dust.
• Sand down the surfaces and proceed with the application of UNIMARC IMPREGNANTE LEGNO.
  

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Air and Surface Conditions:
Air temperature: Min. +8 °C / Max.+35 °C.
Relative humidity of the air: <75%.
Temperature of the surface: Min. +5 °C / Max. +35 °C.
Humidity of the surface: <10% R.H..

• Avoid applying the product when there is condensation on the surface, or in direct sunlight.
• Tools: brush or spry gun.
• Stir the product thoroughly before using.
• The product is ready to be used.
• Apply the product as it is in successive coats, allowing at least 6 hours between coats.
• N coats: 2 coats of product are required for interior use; at least 3 are recommended for exterior use.
• For exterior applications, the use of coloured UNIMARC IMPREGNANTE is recommended since the pigments are responsible for providing protection against ultraviolet light. In places particularly exposed to solar radiation, such as in the mountains, it is advisable to recoat with 2 coats of gloss or satin-finish UNIMARC FINITURA LEGNO 3180819/638 or UNIMARC FINITURA CERATA series 312.
• Tools should be cleaned using water.
• Indicative spreading rate: 8-10 sq m/l per coat on wood featuring average absorption.
  

TINTING
The product is available in the colours shown on the colour chart. Colors are obtainable via the Marcromie color matching system.

STORAGE
Maximum temperature for storage stability: +30 °C
Minimum temperature for storage stability: +5 °C
Stability in the original closed containers stored at suitable temperatures: 3 years.

The product does not require labelling in accordance with 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC and its subsequent changes and updates. Use the product according to current health and safety regulations; after use, do not discard the containers in the environment; allow the residue to dry thoroughly, then treat as special waste. Store out of the reach of children. Use in a well ventilated place. In case of contact with eyes, wash immediately with abundant running water. In caso of ingestion, see a physician immediately and show him or her the container or label. Do not dispose of residues in the sewers, waterways or ground.
